    “Indian River Summer” by Sam Newton. What a great early painting using only the palette knife to create this scene. The calm waterway with big rain clouds building in the background. A tree lined shore with the small skiff on the bank and wading birds. A very calming scene.

    Sam Newton and his two brothers Harold and Lemuel painted Florida landscape scene that are spread all over Florida. Future generations will reflect on these images with an understanding of an earlier Florida.
